"If. as it seems, there is going to be traffic created, I am going to draw attention to the fact that the Courts can impose a penalty of imprisonment without the option and, if offences persist, I will do that," said Mr. 10. C. Pevvey. S.M., in the Magistrate's Court this morning when Linton Rayner Bolt, aged 17, and Maurice McMillan, aged 20. were charged with making purchases of petrol of a kind not authorised by the Oil Fuel Emergency Regulations. Each was fined £2. The police stated that Bolt tendered a number 19 coupon which had been altered by a stamp to number 1,8. to purchase petrol. McMillen had tendered the correct coupons, but the stamp on them had been forged. McMillan had said hc purchased the coupons at 2/ each from an unknown soldier.
