SACRIFICES
"Onions" seems to also have incurred the displeasure of .!. Orr, as he wants to know what :icr.nces" he ha.-, made so iar. \\ ell. 1 \vi]i un.-v.ir that by teiiing bun that all men who join the service.-, make a sacriilce. whe-her they go overseas or not. I Uo not require to point out what those sacrifices are. Of course, "Onion.-*" did a lament over die curtailment of his leave: so did I and my three sons, who are also in the services, and many thousands more, and to keep him from asking what I have done 1 win ten him: four years and 0.-) days in last war and one'year in this. Mr. Orr mentions the physical strain of yU or 60 hours per week J remember only a few years ago That that was the minimum amount of hours worked per week; therefore the old folks mu-.t have- been a good bit tougher than they are n>dav. Has he never heard ot soldiers becoming nervous wreck?? If it is hard unremitting toil and strain to make materials of war. what can it be for the men who 'have to use them? I am not concerned about the political angle which he mentions. but he niu-t rem ember that a few of our enemies >n thi.- wa; '..-ere our friends last 7?me. and as for liberties, if it were not for ? he soldier we would have none at ail. LEEK.
