SHOTS IN DUBLIN

DETECTIVE ON DUTY KILI.KD Rec. 9.30 a.m. LONDON, Oct. 26. Shots have been fired in Dublin. One detective was killed when two men ran from a house surrounded by detectives. One man was detained and the other escaped. The police are believed to have been prosecuting inquiries in connection with the recent murder of a detective-sergeant, Denis O'Brien.

A cablegram received on September 9 said that a detective-sergeant was shot dead while driving alone in daylight from his home in County Dublin to headquarters. His three attackers escaped on bicycles. A i■ >000 reward was offered for information about them.
