Mr. P. Turner left for Christchurch to-day by Union Airways plane.
Mr. G. C. W. Reid will leave for Wellington this evening by the Limited express.
The Rev. Dr. J. J. North left for Wellington this afternoon by express.
Mr. J. Elliott, member of the Railways Superannuation Board, travelled south by the afternoon express.
Sergeant G. London, Mayor of Petone, previously reported missing, is now known to be a prisoner of war.
Colonel F. L. G. West, Northern Regional Commissioner, will travel to Wellington this evening by the Limited.
Messrs. J. Cotter, B. Martin and T. Bloodworth, members of the Legislative Council, will leave for Wellington this evening.
Messrs. A. J. Baker, F. E. Greenish, C. K. Grierson, T. Jordan, E. H. Andrews, S. Blackley, and J. W. Heenan have been appointed members of the Town Planning Board. Other members of the board are the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Parry, who is chairman, the Director of Town Planning, Mr. J. W. Mawson, the Surveyor-General, Mr. H. E. Walshe, the Engineer-in-Chief of the Public Works Department, Mr. W. L. Newnham, ana the Government Architect, Mr. J. T. Mair,
