DEMAND FOR GllAl'E FRUIT There was an improved demand for New Zealand grayclruit and local jwcci orances at the city markets to-dav. Hothouse tomatoes are coming forward plentifully and selling Ireely. Prices for fruit and produce and poultry were:— Vegetables.—Beet. 5 7 per bag, 8 6 per case. Celery, cooking, 6d to lOd per bundle; dessert. 3/ to 5.6 per bundle. Carrots, up to 21V cwt. Cauliflowers. 4/ to 15 6 per tack. Cabbages. 1 S to 16' per sack. French beans, stringless beans, hothouse, 9/ to 24 6 per case. Green peas. 1,4 to I.B>b per lb. Leeks, 8d to 1 2 per bundle. Lettuce, 2/ to 15/ per case. Onions, 40 per cwt. Potatoes; New. 4d ;o 4 ] .', d per lb. Pumpkins. 30 per cwt. Parsnips, 21/ per cwt. Radish. 2/ to 2 9 per dozen Rhubarb, 6 to 12' per dozen. Spinach 5/ per case. Spring onions. 1/ to 2 3 per bundle. Swedes, up to 12' per cwt. Turnips. 12- per cwt. Brussels sprouis. 9d per lb to 10' .d per lb Fruit.—Apples; Delicious. 16 6 to 17 6"per case; Sturmer, 12 6 to 15 6 per case; Dousiheriv. 14 6 to 16/ per case.
