Mr. R. H. Barron, of Wellington is visiting Auckland.
Mr. J. S. Barton, of Wellington, will travel south by the Limited express this evening.
Mr. W. F. James has been elected a life member of the Southland Racing Club.
Mr. J. A. C. Allum, Mayor of Auckland, returned from Wellington this morning by the Limited express.
Mr. W. E. Anderson, secretary of the Auckland Provincial Employers' Association, returned this morning from Wellington.
Mr. A. A. Besley, who has been appointed registrar of births, deaths and marriages, and registrar of electors in Christchurch, has commenced his duties. Mr. G. A. Hislop, formerly of Wellington, succeeds him in Dunedin.
Mr. K. C. Stockman, accountant at the Hamilton branch of the Public Trust, has been appointed accountant to the Wellington branch. The vacancy will be filled by Mr. T. Auton. formerly of the Christchurch officc.
