SURPLUS OF OATS
Southland merchants have been discussing with the Wheat Controller, who is also responsible for the control of oats, the question of what is to be done with the season's surplus of oats. It is understood that no decision was reached, and whether the Government will take over the surplus of milling oats in the South Island or not has yet to be made known.
