CORNWALL PARK
DEPUTATION TO MINISTER -A. discussion took place yesterday between the, Minister of Internal Affairs Mr. Parry, and representatives of the Auckland Council of fcport regarding the proposed closing of Cornwall park to the Maungakiekie Golf Club and to the public. Mr. A. A Baker, the chairman of the council, said he and his colleagues c £ ns £ered that if Possible the park should be kept open for sport. If it was not both the golf club and children of the district would suffer a severe loss. Mr. Parry said that if the proposals Jihl ffi- * dlrection . of depriving f of a recreation ground, he whinh 6 f ouncil had good grounds on which to approach the Cornwall Trust Board before any definite action was taken.
