DEATH ON NEPTUNE

Advice has been received by Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd L. Lord, of Halesowen Avenue, that their son, AbleSeaman Lloyd Mansell Lord, R.N.Z.N.V.R., previously reported missing from H.M.S. Neptune, and then presumed dead, was buried in the vicinity of Tobruk on July 24. The information came from the Navy Office, Wellington, which said it had been notified of the burial by the commander-in-chief of a Mediterranean staticn.

Educated at Maungawhau School and Seddon Memorial Technical College, Able-Seaman Lord was employed at D. McL. Wallace. Ltd. He Was in the R.N.V.R. for four years prior to the outbreak of war, and went overseas in 1940 to Britain. He served in the North Sea for some tune being posted to the Nep-
