FOUR INJURED
TRAMCARS COLLIPE
UPPER PITT STREET ACCIDENT
, Persons were injured in a collision between two tramcars at o* y este rday in Upper Pitt Street. They were:—Mr. James Wagner, aged 57, motorman, of 388 Queen Street, Onehunga; Mr. FrankoT 1 Thrussell aged 33, motorman, of w' t iT* _ treet ' Onehunga; Mr. Wesley Mac Donald, conductor, of 33 Spencer Street, Remuera; and Mr' £vJ n £ SOr ' £ f 55 > Collingwood Street, Ponsonby. After receivinsr treatment for minor injuries at th Q casualty department of the Auckland Hospital, all four were able to go to their homes.
The collision took place on the ?n°rT^ r lt tra( l k of rails near Beres ford Street when a car bound for accidentally ran on to the track at the set of automatic points opposite Beresford Street and struck station 1- tram bound for the railway
The drivers' cabins were severely damaged and the roadway was strewn with broken glass/ Both sets of rails were blocked and many other tramcars were held up until d ' Verted tSr <"« h
