OHAKUNE POTATOES

WELLINGTON RET AI IK Its' PRICES (PA.) WELLINGTON, Friday. The Wellington Retail Fruiterers' Association met this morning and decided to continue selling the Ohakune mam crop of potatoes at a maximum profit of one-third of the cost. The Minister. it was stated, was not fair in his statement They were not forcing potatoes on the public as new potatoes but were selling them as Ohakune potatoes to All the want caused by the lack of supplies. ' It was either these potatoes or none If they were governed by price regulations' it was contended, auctioneers should not be allowed to sell them by auction. That was the retailers' grievance — auctioneers were allowed to sell them at any prices they would fetch yet retailers were supposed to sell them at a fixed price. It was doubtful, however, if those potatoes were covered by Price Order 92, and the test would be welcorned.
