(0.C.) MATAMATA, this day. Horses which have departed for the Pakuranga meeting with their respective trainers are: 11. H. Martin, with Esquire and Prince Pilot; J. W. Cathro, Water Bridge; G. Campbell, Surpeen; A. McArthur, Val Lu; G. Hirst, Town Section.

Esquire was returned to R. H. Martin's care after the Thames meeting at Paeroa. He looks a little in the rough and may want a race or two to lit him for a journey.

A. McArthur has had two two-year-olds added to his team, both by Mr. Standfast. The more forward is a black colt from Waihehereihi, which will race in the interests of Mr. Frank Rose, who also races Mihlnui and Little Rose.

A somewhat unusual coincidence was associated with the Thames Steeplechase at Paeroa. It is the first Twohill Memorial, and the winner, Ureklaw, is raced and trained by R. H. Martin, who served the first ten years of his racing career in the Twohill stable.
