SOLDIERS' APPEALS
J A busy day was spent by the No. - 2 Armed B orces Appeal Board yesT terday in hearing the first appeals lodged against service overseas by soldiers who have been in camp since being mobilised for territorial service. The majority of the appeals were by reservists who urged that It would be a hardship to their wives if they had to go overseas. In other cases thfe appellants were the wives of men in camp. The chairman, Ms. H. A. Anderson, announced that, in the meantime, an adjournment sine die would be granted in the case of men who were • not yet 21 or who were over 41 years .. ot age. Those reservists who came within the 21-41 age group wouud have their cases dealt with on their merits. There were 107 appeals set down for hearing, and of these 14 were dis-
missed, 32 were allowed and the reservists v/ere ordered to continue service in their home defence units, ono was adjourned for two months, two were withdrawn and 2G decisions were reserved. The balance of the appellants did not appear.
