INDOOR BOWLING
DOMINION CHAMPION PAIRS
The Auckland Indoor Bowling Centre's Dominion champion pairs tourney, which was played in the Transport Hall. Symonds Street, and attracted 72 entries, has now reached the postsection stage. The following have qualified Mrs. Maddrent, H. Campling; Mrs. Roberts and E. Roberts (Orange), W. Anderson and J. JoanT Interhouse; A. Spencer and A. Beer. Great North Road; R. Dawson and J. Tyndall, R.S.A.; W. Goldsworthy and P. Roper, Transport; Mrs. Tate and Mrs. Whowell, Blockhouse Bay. The Auckland Interhouse Association open tourney resulted in a win for Mesdames Ward, H. Young. C. Hill and Boles, who in the final defeated Gas Company, F. Roberts, H. Young, Valentine, Meredith.
Cantwell and Meyes teams also won all their games but were eliminated.
Other results: New Zealand Breweries, George Walker. Star Office, Auckland Meat Company, each two wins; Culpans Dry Cleaners, Transport, Roper and Venville; Sunshine Products; Bridgens and Co., Harrisons, each one; Auckland Service Printery and J. B. O'Loghlen and Co., each 3 losses.
When Islington Bay Club welcomed 64 members of the Orange Club a team from the small club succeeded in winning the evening's prizes. The final resulted:—Mrs. J. Johnstone, R. Hardy, Mrs. Kneebone, H. W. Young beat H. Davenport, Mrs. Aiken, H. Dove. Miss A. Bridgens.
