Advice has been received by Mrs. M. Raynes, of Park Avenue, Grafton. that her son, Signalman Athol Wynyard Raynes, aged 22, has been reported missing in the Middle East. Signalman Raynes was educated at Mount Albert Grammar School and was well-known as a Rugbv footballer in the Pukekohe district. He also played for the North Shore team and was prominent in athletic circles.

Private Roy Aitchison, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Aitchison, of Papatoetoetoe, has been reported wounded. He left for the Middle East in June of last year after some months of service in the Pacific.
