WEEK-END MISHAPS
TWO PEDESTRIANS INJURED
MINOR FOOTBALL ACCIDENTS
Two pedestrians were admitted to the Auckland Hospital on Saturday evening. One. a young woman, came into collision with a car near Drury. while the other was a man believed to have been hit by a car which did not stop to offer assistance. There were many minor football accidents, two of which were considered serious enough to be hospital cases. Pedestrians Suffer Head Injuries Believed to have been hit by a car which did not stop to offer assistance, Mr. Frederick Daniel Wilson, aged 65, of 50, Brown Street, Ponsonby, was found lying in Carlton (lore Road, Newmarket, on Saturday evening. He was admitted to the Auckland Hospital suffering from a fractured leg and head injuries. Hia' condition to-day was fair. As the result of a collision with a car near Drury, Miss Evelyn Joan VViiteocks, aged 17, machinist, of Drury, was admitted to the Auckland Hospital at 9.-15 on Saturday evening suffering from concussion and head injuries. Her condition to-day was fair. Injured at Football Of the many football accidents on Saturday, five footballers were attended by the St. John Ambulance and of these cases two were consWlefed serious enough to be adrjptted to the Auckland Hospital. were lan Shaw, aged 16* of 10, Franklin Road, Ponsonby, who was playing Rugby football at Victoria Park, and John Burgess, aged 17, of 56, Symonds Street, Onehunga, who was playing at Gribble-Hirst Park. Both youths suffered concussion and their condition to-day was satisfactory.
