SHORTAGE OP TINS

May I give a suggestion on helping to solve this problem? I suggest that wq housewives when emptying out our tins, such as coffee, treacle and golden syrup tins, also fruit, soup and vegetable tins, wash and thoroughly dry them and return them to our grocers. A box could be provided in the shop ,!J s , to drop them into. These could be collected when the next * s delivered to the store. All that would be needed is new tops on the vegetable tins and soup and tins; the others need no tops, as they have nice fitting lids and are well-made tins. I am sure every housewife would not mind taking these tins back to the grocer's shop as a war effert. This would supply hundreds of tiijiin a week when all were and be a great saving of labour as well. L.W.
