Two months' imprisonment was imposed on Samuel Jordan, aged 72 years, when he was charged in the Police Court this morning, before Mr. J. Morling, S.M., with the theft of a garden spray and pump, valued at £1 18/. He pleaded not guilty Detective-Sergeant J. Trethewey stated that Jordan was arrested after he had sold the spray and pump which were nearly new, at a secondhand dealer's for 6/. Jordan had stated when questioned that he had called into a house to ask if he could cut a hedge. A man had told him that he had no work for him, but that he could take the spray and pump.
