PALM BEACH POST
RESIDENTS' EFFORT
TO BE OFFICIALLY OPENED
A first aid post has been erected by the voluntary contributions and voluntary labour of residents at Palm Beach. It will be officially opened by Superintendent A. Muller, National Reserve Ambulance Division, on March 1.
The post also comprises a room where cards may be played to raise funds for paying for the building and providing equipment. A stretcher and first aid kit were already there in case of accidents on the beach.
An interesting fact in connection with the post is that it has been erected partly as a memorial to Mr. Charles Morris, who met his death by burning about two years ago. At the time money was raised by the residents to help him, since he had lost his home and all he possessed, but he died and it was later decided to use the money to erect the post.
