Mr. J. N. Rishworth, member of the Dental Council, returned from the south to-day. Mr. C. L. Hunter, Conciliation Commissioner, returned to Auckland by the Limited this morning. Mr. J. Barr, city librarian, left yesterday for Wellington to attend the annual meeting of the Library Association. Dr. A. W. H. West, Dunedin, has been appointed temporary lecturer in modern languages at the Auckland University College. Mr. R. I. M. Sutherland, of Wellington, was elected president of the Royal New Zealand Aero Club at the annual meeting recently. Mr. P. H. Griffith, of Wellington, has been appointed president of the New Zealand Hardware Merchants' Guild for a second term. Mr. A. D. Charge, manager of the New Zealand Insurance Company at Wanganui, will leave shortly on promotion for Newcastle, New South Wales. Mr. J. T. Mair has been elected an honorary life fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Architects in recognition of his services to the Dominion as Government Architect. Flight-Lieutenant J. M. Buckeridge, formerly chief assistant to the Controller of Civil Aviation, has been recalled from the retired list of the Royal New Zealand Air Force to serve in the general duties branch.
