WOMAN'S DEATH
MEDICAL REPORT
FINDING OK CORONER
At an adjourned inquest into the death of Ethel Frances Sutherland, 28 years of age, who died at the Auckland Hospital on November 15, a report was received from Dr. W. Gilmour, pathologist at the Auckland Hospital. This stated that the cause of death was septic abortion, with peritonitis and blood poisoning resulting from injury and infection of the pregnant uterus.
Detective-Sergeant Fowler stated that Raymond Francis Woodley Grigg, a manufacturing chemist, aged 46, had been committed for trial on a charge of unlawfully using an instrument on the woman with intent to procure a miscarriage. The coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, returned a finding in accordance with the medical evidence.
