TRAINING COLLEGE
NEXT YEAR'S PLANS
RETURN OF TEACHERS
Student teachers, in Auckland, will not return to their temporary accommodation at the Auckland University College after the end of the year, but will resume their studies at the Auckland Training College as from March 1 next. The chairman of the Auckland Education Board, Mr. W. J. Campbell, said this morning that the Education Bc-ard wished to resume possession of the Training College as from the end of January next, and had communicated with the Auckland Hospital Board, pointing out that the present temporary arrangement, while the college was being used as an auxiliary hospital, was not satisfactory. The reply of the Hospital Board was that the Training College would be vacated by March 1, in terms of an undertaking given.
Mr. Campbell added that it was now proposed that the time lost by the student teachers in February while waiting to return to the Training College, should be made up during the year. It was expected that the roll at the college next year would be about 600.
