WHOLESALE MARKETS

BCSY CONDITIONS RULE SUMMER LINES IN DEMAND Extremely biisy conditions are being experienced in all departments of wholesale grocery merchants' warehouses. The deliveries were commenced last week on December account, and as no deliveries will be made on January account until warehouses reopen after the Christmas holidays there* is no financial advantage in retailers holding up orders until the last minute, and they are therefore sending in for their stocks early. Retailers are reminded that all wholesale grocery and tobacco warehouses will be completely closed over the holidays and they will therefore be wise to make extra provision to have adequate stocks to carry them over this period. In the tobacco section the new month's deliveries are now being completed and a heavy volume of turnover is being handled. The mid-month tobacco deliveries will be made to the country districts on Monday the fifteenth and in the, city and suburban areas the following day.
