Mr. S. I. Crookes left by air to-day for New Plymouth. Mr. J. G. Coates, a member of the War Cabinet, arrived by air from Wellington yesterday. Mr. H. G. Rishworth. the Whangarei High School Board's representative on the Auckland Grammar School Board, has resigned. Mr. D. Holderness, superintendent and engineer of the Auckland Harbour Board, left last night for Wellington. Lieutenant H. Philpott, of the Navy Office, Wellington, has returned from a visit to Australia. He left for Wellington last night. Mr. R. B. Tennant, director of the Fields Division. Department of Agriculture, Wellington, arrived In Auckland this morning. He will return to-morrow night. Brigadier G. B. Parkinson, recently appointed officer commanding the Army Tank Brigade, and who has returned from the Middle East, will travel south by the Limited express to-night. Lieutenant-Colonel H. S. Nurse, deputy-Inspector general of munitions for the Australian Military Forces, has arrived on a short visit v Zealand. He is staying at the Station Hotel. M- H. Watt, Director-General of Health, and Mr. F. J. Fenton, inspecting house manager in the Health Department, are visitintr Auckland. XT T £ e Minister of Finance. Mr. Nash, will leave Wellington to-night for Auckland to open to-morrow an insulating board mill established bv the New Zealand Forest Products, Ltd., at Penrose. Second-Lieutenant G. Appleton. -.Ist Light Aid Detachment, has been promoted to lieutenant and appointed district ordnance workshops officer. Northern Military District. The Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, visited the Otago Centennial Memorial and the Dunedin Art Gallery J e t, te . rt * a y- He -was also the guest at a Rotary Club luncheon, and during the afternoon attended the Otaco Agricultural and Pastoral Socletv's summer show.
