Salads Fast Growers
POM now onwards salads will be in greatest demand. They have the virtue of quick growth and immunity from most diseases. The essentials are deep digging, a finely broken soil rich in humus, and ample moisture. Radish, lettuce, mustard and cress are best of the salads and all grow quickly. Lettuce should suffer no check and be hurried on with liquid manure and nitrate of soda.
