HAMILTON BUTCHERS

DELIVERY QUESTION

(0.C.) HAMILTON, Wednesday. A statement that although the association had not yet considered the question of ceasing delivery, it would probably be forced to do so in the near future, was made by Mr. W. R. Shattock, president of the Hamilton branch of the South Auckland Master Butchers' Association, to-day. Mr. Shattock said if this was done'it would not cause a great deal of inconvenience in the town, as there were numerous meat shops, and few customers would have to carry their meat for more than threequarters of a mile. The average cost for each delivery van was £8 a week, and with the increasing costs butchers would welcome a change.
