TRAVEL FILMS

A very pleasant conclusion to the Junior Chamber of Commerce's activities for the year was the screening of coloured travel films at the Lewis Eady Hall last evening There was a large attendance of members and friends of the Junior Chamber and also of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, Mr. J. Bassett, chairman of the former body presiding. The films, a pictorial record of a tour undertaken by Mr. Alan H. Winstone and completed just prior to the war, presented views of New York, the English countryside, the Highlands of Scotland. the Continent and cremation ritual and dancing in Bali. A running commentary was provided by Mr. Winstone. In an interval for supper, Mr. L. A. Eady, chairman of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, thanked the Junior Chamber for its hospitality, and congratulated Mr. Winstone upon the excellent photography of the films and the good judgment shown in the selection of scenes.
