ORELIO ADVANCES IN FAVOUR
AUCKLAND MID-SPRING RACES
The possible results of the Alison Cup and the Cheltenham Handicap have formed the main theme of discussions on the Auckland Racing Club's mid-spring meeting during the last 48 hours, and there is every indication that Orelio, who has 9.4 in the Cup, has advanced to favouritism, -while Llandaff is most spoken of among the acceptors for the Cheltenham Handicap.
Orelio is a high-class performer. After being off the racing scene for several months, he made a reappearance in the King George Handicap at the Avondale meeting at Ellerslie on November 3 and led to the straight entrance, where his condition gave out.
A fortnight later, when improved by the run and additional galloping, the atti acti\ely-formed son of Limond and Water Wings made the pace in the Waikato Cup. one mile and three furlongs, to within 50 yards of the jttdge, where Beau Leon took his measure to win by threequarters of a length.
