ALMOST SUPERHUMAN

Almost superhuman tasks were being undertaken by European and Maori churchmen in North Auckland, said the Bishop of Auckland, the Rt. Rev. W. J. Simkin, at All Saints' Church, Ponsonby, last night. Some relief for them in their vast parishes was an urgent problem. The bishop paid tribute to the deep spirituality of some of the older Maoris who attended services in the course of his recent lour of North Auckland. While it might be that these older people did not have a background of knowledge, there could be no doubt of the reality of their religion and what it meant to them.
