ARMY WITHDRAWS
Demands For Changes In Owen Sub-machine-gun FUIX PRODUCTION SOOX Rec. 11.30 a.m. SYDNEY, this day. The army has withdrawn a!l major demands for chances in the construction of the Owen sub-machine-gun. This is the outcome of the conference called bv the Minister of the Army, Mr. Fofde. to settle differences of opinion between the army on the one side and the inventor and manufacturers on the other. A few minor changes, the advantages of which were conceded bv Mr. Owen, the inventor, will be discussed with army experts and manufacturers to-day. Full production is expected at an early date.
