BATTLEDRESS IS GOOD
With four successive wins, including the New Zealand Derby at Riccarton, Battledress must rank foremost among New Zealand's current three-year-olds. His next classic engagement will be the Great Northern Derby at Ellerslie on New Year's Day. Southern experts consider he will win this, too, but Auck--1 angers aren't so sure. If Regal Fox rehabilitates himself on Saturday the Foxbridge colt will be heavily backed to beat Battledress. Regal Fox is engaged in the Alison Cup, In which he will meet proved riUddleKUstance performers in Beau Leon and Orello, but he is so favourably placed with 7.11 that he is bound to test that pair to the utmost if he is a genuine Derby colt.
