RACING SEMI-FINALS

LLANDAFF AGAIN

Does Winning Trial At Ellerslie COROT SHAPES WELL The highlight of this morning's semi-'-final gallops at Ellerslie for the A.R.C. mid-spring meeting was a brilliant halfmile by Llandaff, who recorded 50 2-ss. The gallop took place on the course proper, on which the poles were out 60ft. Llandaff galloped brilliantly, and ran his first furlong in 12 l-ss. His time for the full distance bettered by three seconds the effort of the next fastest galloper at half a mile. What made the trial meritorious was the fact that Llandaff used the course proper after it had begun to cut up as the result of heavy rain. Llandaff pulled up remarkably well. He is in great heart for Saturday's engagement. Another attractive effort was Corot's fii'e furlongs in 1.5 4-5. Best figures for six furlongs went to Kadina. who recorded 1.21. The first three took 39 l-ss. In a similar task Dinky Di ran 1.21 2-5. and Phaleron returned 1.21 3-5. Cherry's Ticket also was responsible for a sound six furlongs, taking 1.22 2-5. She ran the opening three in 38 3-ss. Mysito covered seven in 1.35 1-5. She was assisted over the last five by British Mint in 1.6 4-5. They finished on terms.
