SALES OF POWER

WAITEMATA BOARD INCREASE FOR SEVEN MONTHS An increase in the returns from the sale of current for the seven months ended October 31, was reported by Mr. A. Main, the manager, at a meeting of the Waitemata Electric Power Board this afternoon. The sales for the seven months, he stated, were £129,484, compared with £126,372 for the corresponding period last year, an increase of £3112. The returns for October were £15,807, as against £14,972 for October, 1940, an increase of £835.

Consumers, added Mr. Main, now totalled 16,790, and there were 5488 ranges, 5061 water heaters, 1956 milking motors, and 2352 industrial motors connected to the board's system at October 31. This represented 11,096 connected horse-power. Discounts allowed consumers for the past seven months totalled £32.346, compared with £30,064 last year.
