BOARD APPOINTMENTS

AUCKLAND WELFARE CENTRE The appointment of seven of the nine members of the Auckland Community Welfare Centre Board is announced. They are Dr. Elizabeth K. Hughes and Messrs. J. Tyler and C. F. Bennett, representatives of the Community Service Organisation; the Mayor of Auckland and the chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, who are members ex officio; and | Messrs. W. F. Fowlds and J. V. Macky, who are additional representatives of the City Council and the Hospital Board respectively. The Minister of Internal Affairs and the Minister of Health have yet to each appoint a representative. The work of the board is to control the health centre and clinic to be established at Freeman's Bay, and when the board has been constituted it will make arrangements for the erection of the speciallydesigned building to house the welfare centre in Victoria Street West, opposite Victoria Park.
