New Zealand Pilot With Total Of 17 Victories AWARDED BAR TO D.F.C. Rec. 11.30 a.m. LONDON, Oct. 7. Acting Flight-Lieutenant Colin Falkland Gray, R.A.F., has been awarded a bar to his D.F.C. The citation states that Flight-Lieutenant Gray destroyed a further eight enemy planes, making his total victories 17. In addition he probably has destroyed a further nine enemy planes. He has always shown the greatest enthusiasm and has been of great assistance to his squadron commander.

I Flight-Lieutenant Gray, who is 27 I years of age, joined the air force in 1938, following in the footsteps of his twin brother, the late FlyingOfficer Kenneth Neil Gray, D.F.C. 1 who, with a Masterton flyer, were the first New Zealanders to be decorated with the D.F.C. in the ; present conflict. Hs is a member of a fighter command, and since the 1" of 1116 war haEr been through the Battle of Britain and the evacuation of Dunkirk. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Gray, of Gisborne.
