FACTORY EFFICIENCY

LONDON, Oct. 7. The drastic action taken to eliminate inefficiency in war factories has been revealed by Mr. Barlow, secretary of the North Region Production Executive. "Practically the whole of the management of one firm was cleared out," he said. "Inspectors have investigated every complaint of slackness. Many of them were unfounded, but where they were justified the services of important executives were dispensed with." It is understood most of the dismissals have been in the engineering trade.
