"RUMOUR OF CHANGE"
COMMERCIAL BROADCASTING

ti WELLINGTON, this day. •* ''£ erha .P s th e Minister will tell us if there is any truth in the current rumour of a change in the controller Commercial Broadcasting," said Mr. Doidge (National, Tauranea) during a discussion on the Supplementary Estimates in the House of Kepresentatives last night. "If we are to be in the throes of a general election next week we would like to know, added Mr. Doidge, who was Pk Wlth "Order, order," from the Chairman of Committees (Mr McKeen).
Later Mr Kyle (National, Riccarton) referred to the subject, stating that there were rumours going round the country. Was the controller of Commercial Broadcasting still operating? he asked. He'came over the air on Sunday night, but some said it was only a record, added Mr Kyle.
There was no reply from the Government side.
