INFLATION PERIL

U.S. Leader Urges Instant Action "AVOID NATIONAL. DISASTER" Rec. 2 p.m. WASHINGTON, Sept. 26. Mr. Donald Nelson, Federal Director of Priorities, testifying before the House of Representatives' Banking Committee to-day, said price control should be enacted at once to prevent "an inflationary period that will completely destroy us." He said the entire priorities system must be changed to avoid national disaster, destroying small business men. Mr. Lynn Stambaugh, newlyelected commander of the American Legion, called at White House today and formally presented resolutions adopted at the national convention supporting greater aid for the Allies.

President Roosevelt said he was very much heartened and encouraged by the American Legions support, and expressed his thanks for it to Mr. Stambaugh.
