STILL CLOSED

AUCKLAND ttOSPITAL J STATEMENT BY CHAIRMAN i "The question of reopening the Auckland Hospital to visitors will b< considered at an early date." said th< chairman of the Auckland Hospita Board, Mr. Allan J. Moody, this morning. Mr. Moody added that there were signs of abatement of the outbreak |of cerebro-spinal meningitis and a number of the patients had been discharged. Measles, however were still prevalent in Auckland, and that also had to be taken into consideration. •

Mr. Moody pointed out that although the hospital was still closed to the general public, arrangements could be made, in cases of grave illness, or urgency, for relatives to see patients. Such visits .however, were subject to the authority and permission of the medical superintendent. 1 '^^^^^""^' w '^^
