SIX RUGBY CENTURIES ON END
Centuries in football come more consistently to a young Rugby player, Peter Randrup. than they do to most experienced cricketers. For six consecutive seasons, playing for Technical Old Boys, he has topped the three-figure mark and his total in that period is 643 points.
Starting wilh the College fourth grade old DO3-S team in 1936. he got 100 points. In the next season he got 100 points for the intermediate team, and a further 115 points in the following season. In 1939 he was in similar form with the third grade team, scoring 120 points, while in
1940, still in the third grade, he got 106. Last Saturday, playing in the second grade final against Suburbs, he was on the losing side but kicked two penalty goals which brought his tally to 102 for this season.
Randrup can play anywhere in the backs, but his usual position is in the five-eighth line. He has gained most of his points in the various seasons through the accuracy of his placekicking. He started his football with the Royal Oak School. He is 21 j-ears of age and 10 stone in weight.
Young Randrup is the second son of Mr. C. A. J. Randrup, a former Taranaki representative footballer and now prominent with the administration of football in Auckland.
