SNOOKER TOURNEY IN ITS SECOND WEEK
The draw for the open snooker championship next week is as follows:— Monday: B. McKenzie v. C. Benjamin; R. Carriek v. 8. Spencer. Tuesday: A. Phillips v. T. A. Massey; R. Whitford v. N. Alderton. Wednesday: C. Steversen v. G. Spalding; B. North v. G. Hunter. Thursday: D. McTavish v. B. Bedwell; M. Jury v; A. North. Friday: R. R. McLean v. D. Fredatovich; R. Nixon v. R. Hendry.
Endeavours are still being made to persuade Hockey Bennell and Ron McLaughlin to meet at Leichhardt Stadium on September 25 to determine the Australian welter-weight championship. They are nival Claimants and have fought three draws.
