Movies In Church
■THE Rev. Cecil Clark, of Christ 1 Church, Woburn Place, Bloomsbury, London, thinks the movies a social necessity. So, when several nearby picture houses were blitzed he adapted his vestry hall for film shows. Some youths of 17, firewatchers at the church, installed a modern projector and soft lights, and the hall is open free every Friday evening. Mr. Clark can himself operate a movie camera and is adept at cutting and handling films. When he was a curate he ran a children's theatre, and when vicar of another church gave his spare time to running a film association for the Church Union at Westminster. Sometimes he controlled 20 cameramen who took pictures to illustrate phases of Church activity.
