PROFIT OF £605 SHOWN AXXUAL MEETING HELD The 97th annual report and balance-sheet of the Auckland Metropolitan Agricultural and Pastoral Association for the year ending July 31 was presented at the annual meeting of the association yesterday by the president, Mr. S. Irwin Crookes. It was stated that 37 new members had been elected during the year, bringing the total membership to 645. A profit was recorded on both the show and gymkhana organised by the association, the figures being £374 and £116 respectively. The showground showed a profit of £421. The general revenue account showed a loss of £307, leaving a profit of £605 on the year's working. It was decided not to make any allowance for depreciation this year. It was pointed out that blackout regulations made it impossible to hold a winter exhibition with outdoor attractions. The buildings report showed that the Ist Field Ambulance had taken a lease of the bunk-house and barroom for the duration of the war. The 12th Field Ambulance was using the grandstand accommodation fortnightly for drilling purposes. Pavilions numbers three and six were in use for general storage and negotiations were under way with the military authorities for the utilisation of the remaining pavilions. The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Mr. S. I. Crookes; vice-presidents, Messrs. A. A. Swaffield and O. R. Self: new council members, Messrs. S. Findlay. H. Frost, S. Hamlin, W. C. Knight. W. O. Lane, C. S. Leggett, \V. W. Massey, A. Millen, J. T. F. Mitchell. T. F. Muir, G. H. McCullough, E. D. McLennan, A. W. Perkins, P. H. Smith, R. Wright, J. Wylie.
