WAR TRANSPORT

GIVING AID TO RUSSIA LONDON. Sept. 25. A message from Teheran savs British and Russian experts are hastening the organisation of the transport of war material to Russia from Britain and the Empire across the Iranian railway, which has proved inadequate, and so the line across Iraq will also be used. The trans-Iranian railwav from Bandar Shahpur to the Caspian Sea will be extended to Tabriz, connecting with the Russian trans-Caucasian railway. Material from India and Australia is already traversing Iran, and some material, including British and American, is being landed at Basra, on the Tigris, at the head of the Persian Gulf.
