GENERAL ELECTION?
OPPOSITION'S INTEREST QUESTION in parliament (By Telegraph.— Parliamentary RepoXer.) WELLINGTON, this day. interest in whether there is to be a general election or not was shown by the Leader of the Opposition. Mr. Holland, at the end of last night's sitting of the House of Representatives after the Prime Minister. Mr. Fraser, had advised the House that to-day the Public Works Statement and the Public Works Estimates would be taken.
Are any other important announcements expected?" asked Mr Holland.
"Not unless the Leader of the Opposition has some important statement to make," replied Mr. Fraser. Mr. Holland: I would like to announce that the public is awaiting some news about the election. Mr. Richards (Govt., Itoskill): They are waiting to finish vou all right Mr. Fraser: Order! Order! An Opposition Member: It sounds like a caucus meeting. Mr. Fraser said he hoped the progress made to-day would facilitate all sorts of positions. Mr. Holland: You will make a statement to-morrow night then' Mr. O'Brien (Govt.. Westland): We will tell you first.
