ANNUAL DANCE

XOHTHCOTK RETURNED SOLDIERS The Northcote Returned Soldiers held their annual dance in the King's Theatre last night, and the Progressive League assisted to make the- function a most successful one. A feature was the admission ticket, which was in the form of a folder displaying the British colours and a list of all the "boys" who had gone overseas from Northcote. The guests of honour were the men who have returned, and they were welcomed by the Mayor, Mr E. C. Fowler. Gunner R. Taylor, who lost an arm in Greece, returned thanks, and said the sacrifice was not theirs, but their parents and wives. Supper was provided by the ladies' committee. The proceeds from the dance were handed over to buy Christmas cheer for the local men overseas.
