A demand that the council of the British Medical Association should withdraw its committee forthwith from collaboration with the Government on the Social Security Amendment Bill, which was before the House of Representatives on Fridav. has been issued by the Southland executive of the association.
At a meeting held on Saturday the executive took strong exception to the principles embodied in the bill. Members objected particularly to the compulsory clauses which they claimed interfered with the libertv of patients and doctors alike.
