TENNIS
The fifth annual meeting of the Winstone Parle Tennis Club held on Thursday evening, when the annual report and balance sheet disclosed a sound position at the close of the club's year Prospects for the coming season are as bright as can De under prevailing circumstances. In common with all other sports clubs the male membership has been depicted by members already serving overseas and in territorial camos, while others are liable to be called in the "near future. The club will again enter for the A.L.T.A. inter-club competitions. Opening day has been fixed for Saturday. September 20, when the annual match against ;he Domain coard will be played. The election ot officers resulted: — Patron, Mr. R. Sanft; president. Mr. H. Valentine: vice-president. Mr. A. Fraser; hon. secretary, Mr. A. Donald: hon. treasurer. Mr. J. Marshall; club captain. Mr. A. Brebner; committee. Mrs. J. Fyvie. Mrs. T. Smith. Messrs. E. J. Hawkins. C. Atkinson. T. W. Arthur: match selection committee, club captain and Messrs. S. G. Wright and M. Aldred; grounds superintendent, Mr. T. W. Arthur; hon. auditor, Mr. J. Battley.
