TRIBUTE PAID
GROUP SEVEN
MORNING TEA HELD To pay tribute to the workers responsible for raising Group Seven's £42.116 for the Fighting Forces' Fund, a morning tea was held to-day in Milne and Choyce's tearoom. More than 80 per cent of this total was contributed by the staffs of the firms within the group. To show their appreciation, some of the central committee put their hands into their own pockets again, making possible this function as well as presentations tq four women who had worked untiringly for months without any remuneration whatever. Mrs. M. E. Turtill received an inscribed silver tray and china coffee service, Mrs. M. Brayshay a chiming clock. Miss Violet Clark "and Miss Margaret Fletcher a wristlet watch each, and Miss Audrey Bowman a travelling clock. As a mark of appreciation to Mr. Horace Bull for his leadership, members of the working committees presented him with an illuminated address. It was regretted that it was impossible to thank personally all the members. A highlight of the programme was the victory haka lead by Mr. John Connolly.
