ANOTHER DOUBLE FOR MUNRO

"Darby" Munro cost bookmakers £8000 by riding two more winners at Kensington on Wednesday— Novice and Royal Sceptre, both favourites. They increased his tally to four wins from nine mounts since he resumed riding at Moorefield last Saturday. Only Munro could have won on Novice, says the "Daily Telegraph." He jockeyed her through a crowded field and got up just in time to win. "Ninety per cent of punters only want Munro when he is riding a fancied horse," a leading fielder said. "The public inquired almost exclusively for Novice and Royal Sceptre in their races. He is going to prove very expensive every time he wins." Many racing men thought that Munro had shown E. McMenamin a point in opening a gap on the rails on Royal Sceptre and closing it when McMenamin tried to take Rhythmic through. After the race Munro, McMenamin and several other riders in the race were before the stewards. Munro denied that he attempted to interfere with the chances of any horse.
